Applied work

We develop new media designs for science learning based on well-worked out models of cognition. These design-based research prototypes then work as both:

  • ¬†platforms for improving science learning, and
  • ¬†probes into the mechanisms and processes underlying science and mathematics cognition.

A central focus currently is developing manipulable simulations that help teach and learn representational competence and model-based reasoning.
