We take up projects that seek to break new ground, in terms of both questions and methods. Most projects start from theoretical models, particularly from cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience, move to intervention designs, then empirical studies, and close with a revisiting of the theoretical assumptions underlying the design. A central objective of our design-based research is developing new theoretical models of higher order cognition, particularly learning and discovery driven by building and use of models.
